You should know that what you are feeling - that cold sweat, pit of the stomach panic is something we have ALL felt, and we are not immune to it. It is a completely normal and understandable response to fear. If humans didn't fear death, we would just walk in front of cars without thought! It is a self preservation response and completely normal.

Having said that - being afraid of a mammoth approaching you quickly is a lot different than being frightened of something that "might someday" happen. Christine is exactly right. Get control of the fear - you do NOT have a woolly mammoth bearing down on you, so it is okay to relax. Take a deep breath, drop your shoulders, and look around you. Go out and enjoy the spring day. Be in the present.
