My husband's ENT preferred the PET/CT as he was better able to review them in addition to the radiologist's report, so there may be a preference by doctor as well. I don't know if insurance coverage is an issue, but I believe the CT is the least costly.

Lefty, be sure to ask if a PET or MRI is planned after the CT.
