I agree about DVDs of TV series, John. When I went over to Perth to stay with my brother and his family at the start of his treatment, we went through all available Madmen series.
He has also gone through 7 series of the Sopranos, and I'm taking over all the old Brit series of Upstairs Downstairs when I go over again in 10 days. I've got his kids going through all the Merlin series.
TV series are distracting because you really get into the ongoing storyline and characters. It can offer some respite from the constant worry. Any port in a storm !!
