Well We went to Head and Neck surgeon today and he said the pain is normal. Says since she is inflammed it is all connected. He is concerned about 2 lymph nodes that appeared swollen on th PET scan. My sister was very scared today because of all the news she recieved. He recommends surgery but the tumor goes to her midline so it will be a decent amount taken out i would assume. Then he would take a part of her wrist and reconstruct her tongue. Says she has a 98% chance of talking and swallowing again. Believes she will have Radiation too..Whew Alot to take in for someone. She had a full blown panic attack and went outside as my mother and I asked questions. I mean is this possible? They can do this and a person can be ok? I think she might go for a second opinion she was kind of upset that it is going to take them 6 weeks to operate. She is afraid it is going to spread. This is so scary because you don't fully understand how they can do this and you could function again. She is in a state of panic as am I but dont tell her. I really wish she would come on this forum and talk.
