I had a biopsy in April and saw 2 ent's here who told me to "just watch and wait"....not! In the mean time they found a small complex mass in my ovary that needs to be addressed also. I'm just tired if waiting around and I want answers. After reading lots of posts here I was determined to get to the CCC asap. Wish me luck and I'll let you all know what's up. | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,357 Likes: 5 "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) | "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,357 Likes: 5 | Good for you. I have never been a fan of "we'll keep an eye on it". This can be an aggressive cancer and needs to be addressed in the same manner.
Keep us posted.

Have you had Dr Enver Ozer at OSU? That's who myself and JeffL had. He's good .I was in a study there until I had to opt out for the rads, chemo and seed implants.

LOL Bow Tie and all his rude mannerisms. But he is very good , after you get past his rudeness. He looks like Mr Manners... I still laugh when I think about him.

Neither one of the ENT's that I saw here even put on a glove to examine my mouth, which I found completely unacceptable. So I'm off to OSU to get a proper evaluation and to ease my mind hopefully. | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 598 "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) | "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 598 | Ditto the comments on Dr. Ozer and the folks at the James -- they are great.
I laughed out loud when Jim mentioned Dr. Weed. He gave me my pre-surgical physical before my neck dissection, and is obviously very competent, but very dry sense of humor. When I was in the hospital after the surgery, they were giving me these injections in my abdomen periodically, and I asked why. The nurse said "Because you are diabetic." My jaw and my wife's jaw dropped simultaneously, as I had never been diagnosed as anything close to diabetic.
When another doctor came to see me on rounds, he laughed -- "Dr. Weed things EVERYBODY is diabetic." He is very conservative, but very good. Again, though, he is an internist, so not a primary care doc for the cancer treatment.
Good luck -- happy to provide any insight you need on the James or the staff there. Jeff SCC Right BOT Dx 3/28/2007 T2N2a M0G1,Stage IVa Bilateral Neck Dissection 4/11/2007 39 x IMRT, 8 x Cisplatin Ended 7/11/07 Complete response to treatment so far!!
