Charm, I could have used that info about 2 years ago!!! I wish I knew you then. I sat on the toilet reading the box on the phone with my Mom..LOL Lucky for Ray he was playing softball that night!! I will be out of the loop for about a week so I hope to come back and here you are doing a little bit better. Sometimes it takes a while and that stinks. I did find that Senikot worked well. Try adding that to your pills.

No chemo or radiation
Biopsy on 2/2/10-Clear
Surgery needed again...no later than April 2011

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

That will be a cake walk. I can see Suzanne and her mom on the pot reading and waiting. LOL Enjoy your wedding and honeymoon as best you can.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Dad: Age 65 Heavy smoker/drinker. Biopsy-No surgery. Cancer base of tongue/throat. "Invasive Squamous Carcinoma RRT" --Beginning 1/9/08: IMRT treatments (5X/wk),chemo pills (4/day) and Chemo IV (once/wk) PEG tube inserted 1/25/08. Treatments ended 2/26/08
JUNE 30, 2008 Officially CANCER FREE!!!

Surgery 9/08 - Total glossectomy, free flap from pectoral muscle, left mandible replaced using fibula
35 IMRT & Erbitux 11/08
4/15/09 recurrence
6/1/09 passed away, rest in peace

If it would leave the right inside part of my tongue I could handle it much better. Even eat much easier.
