MD Anderson has reviewed my case and accepted me to come down and see them. After Dana Farber (Harvard) in Boston rejected me I was surprised. I don't anticipate there is any standard treatment they can do for me (my CC insists there is not) beyond the chemo I'm doing now, but I'm hoping there is a clinical trial or something that I might be eligible for.

So later this month my wife and I are headed for Houston. Either way I'm excited. Even if MD Anderson can offer me nothing, I'll at least have the peace of mind that I've done absolutely everything I can to try to beat this thing, and that I've explored every possible avenue.

Great news that they have agreed to see you. Of course we all HOPE that they wouldn't waste your time unless they did have something to offer you - but who knows!

Been thinking about you and wondering how you were. Enjoy the trip to Houston - try to find some time to be a tourist.

We'll be waiting to hear how you made out. Prayers and positive vibes being sent your way.

Donna

Steve, maybe they have an idea of how to help. It was the lesser known Hospital that had the best treatment plan for me. But of course, I was too hard headed to listen until I really needed them. I owe them my life.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
--- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here

Hope for the best, that's all one can do. I don't thinks they would have invited you there if they didn't see anything they could do.

Steve,

That is wonderful news. I have read so many positive articles about patient outcomes and the medical teams at MD Anderson.

Best wishes.

Steve

I am familiar with MD Anderson from having a heart procedure done there in the early 90's. They are a fine facility. I am so glad for you that they agreed to see you. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.
