Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,219 | David, From all I've read it is one of the criteria for determining who could get the vaccine. As you can tell I am a strong advocate for everyone that can possibly get it, to do so.
I would suggest that you do some research on the internet and check with your doctor to see if exceptions are made if someone doesn't know if they have had it, but probably did.
BTW, 60 is the new 50.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

If you would be sooo careful to read my Signature Line I accurately state "58 AT DX" so that readers will know how old I was when I got my OC. That's the way it's read since I joined this site. So there!

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

I personally prefer folks not to have to do the math, esp when there is no Dx date and lots of folks reading may not know Dx means Diagnosis!
