Please calm down. It isnt doing you any good to get so worked up and dwell on your past. Please understand that getting all worked up isnt going to change the biopsy results one bit. Once you have the biopsy, it will then take about another week for the results to come back. At this point you need to focus on positive things in your life and not let worry steal time from you. The past is the past and cant be changed, you do have control over your future, its up to you the choices you make.

I dont mean to sound harsh at all. Many people have problems in their lives and go on to overcome it and become productive, successful individuals. Ive seen so many scared new members post here, all have been convinced they were dying only to find out they didnt have cancer at all. Lets hope thats what the biopsy results show for you, no cancer. Remember you are the one who controls how you feel.

Hang in there and relax its the holiday season. Im sure you can think of things you are greatful for or how lucky you really are. Positive thinking goes a long way.

NO a video is NOT going to be helpful!!!!! There are Doctors that don't get it right by looking..... You can only get a definitive diagnosis with a tissue biopsy. We here couldn't even know if a biopsy is the correct next step. Take a moment to chill out, get to see a doctor in the morning.

I was trying not to be one of the people who freak out on these pages. I know you guys get that a lot.

I guess i feel really alone. I've always kind of prided myself on being a loner, but it's just tough because I know if you catch it early it isn't as big of a deal, and no one seems to believe me, or something, and I know something is going on-my throat, tongue, upper mouth(?), tonsillary arch, all at different times are numb and painful.

I know I need a biopsy but how do you get a doctor to do that. I've been to the ENT twice, and many people on these pages tell stories of having to go to several doctors, or of people going to the doctor and not being diagnosed and dying. So, I don't know

I feel like a baby and a coward. My life has been in peril many times, and I freaked out, but not like this. I guess the pictures just look so gnarly.

It's strange, so many people chew, smoke and drink around here, yet she has only seen two cases of oral cancer. Fishing, logging, and construction are the three major industries. Two of the boats on the Deadliest catch are based here, so if you've seen that show you've seen how much those guys smoke/chew/ and drink. It's like life is cheep here, or something. If I don't have cancer, I got to get out of here. It's killing me, or already has, lol.

But man i just chewed so much, one after the other, i took one even before I got out of bed. It was that bad, so if anyone should get OC it's probably me. I'm an idiot.

trust us - we're used to people freaking out! But we can't diagnose you over the internet. We are not doctors. You need to make an appointment with an ENT, have an evaluation made and then have your mind set at ease that it is not cancer. If there is nothing there to biopsy -they will not order one.

Stop chewing and using tobacco products if you haven't already. This is one club that you really don't want to join. Forget what all the other brain dead people in the world do - this is about your life not theirs.

By the way, most oral cancers are asymptomatic and have no pain at all. Pain usually indicates an infection.

See another ENT and just lie: say that you have a family history of cancer, and your mom and dad had oral cancer. That will definitely jump start the biopsy. I've had problems with lots of ENT's, and it took awhile to find one that would do a FNA biopsy on my inflammed tonsils. I just lied and said my dad had tonsilar cancer, and I want to know if that's what this is. I don't understand why some of these guys are so reluctant.

Anyways, do you surf? If you surf, get the hell out of Washington State! That place is so depressing! Move to Hawaii or California for awhile. Probably better to move to Hawaii and get away from the stress.

Lying to doctors is NOT a good way to get them to help you. Would you want doctors lying to you?

Don't lie--tell the truth and tell your doctor you need this to be fixed pronto and you need answers. Stop chewing, stop smoking. I'm a little confused by your posts. Sometimes I think your not chewing and sometimes I think you are chewing tobacco. If you are, you need to stop NOW.

Well at least once a year we have a genuine hypochondriac (or sympathy freak) on the forum. They chew up a lot of time and resources that can be better spent with other, more pressing, patient/caregiver needs. He knows what to do - the ball is in his court.

MSG - there is no scientific evidence to support that OC is passed genetically. If you found an ENT that believed your story I would question whether he actually has cancer experience or is one of those ENT's who makes a living sticking tubes in kids ears.
