I got a call from my RO at the Cancer Center that my first follow up PET/CT Scan came out completely clean.

I know PET scans are not a 100% sure thing, but she slowly said c_o_m_p_l_e_t_e_l_y...c_l_e_a_n a second time, then to have a happy holiday season and to call 'Scheduling' to set up an appointment to see her around mid January.

She made my day smile

Scans aren't cheap here, but they would likely be cheaper if they did more of them -- You divide the cost of the machine by the expected number of scans in its useful life to find what it costs you per scan -- If you don't take enough scans, it costs a lot per scan! Same thing goes for the guy running the machine and the Doc who reads the scan.

Sometimes the financially ignorant are behind these "savings" moves.
