It became a local Rite of Passage for young people to climb Roger's Rock after I was in college, Army, etc. -- One year, after the season, I kayaked over and climbed it, wearing the traditional gear of bathing suit, tee shirt and bare feet -- I got about half way up and it started to rain lightly, making the moss on the gneiss rock as slippery as goose-grease -- I really started wondering about my lack of common sense, climbing in the rain at 55 YOA, out of season with no one to see me fall (and then I would be polluting the water!), but I made it -- I think of that often when I contemplate this cancer stuf!

As we kept going back each year our boats kept getting bigger and better - rowboat to rowboat with a motor to a 14' outboard to a 17' outboard. I never did want to try water skiing, but we had the fastest boat for it by the time Daddy was done. We used to have friendly races and they were a blast.
We kids decided to climb (on the path) one of those mountains one year as a thunderstorm was rolling in. We figured it was OK bacause there was a higher mountain next to it. I was just a few feet from the top when my dog panicked and jerked me down with his leash. At that moment lightning struck right where I had been about to step. Turns out that the mountain we decided was safe to climb was filled with iron ore.
It's amazing sometimes how we ever made it this far.

I like you am going to stay at 12 yrs of age. It helps to be the happy guy when you fight this OC. Keeping young is the way to go and never be too serious. Hell, I found out today that my postrate is big now too. More good times to go thru, but with a smile.
