I am spending a fortune trying to find a lipstick which stays on for my eternally chapping lips. This was somewhat of a problem before OC because of medications but since the surgery it seems that some of the glands that keep the lips moist are not working. Also, I need to wipe my mouth a lot when I eat and drink because I dribble from the gully created when my lip was cut for the surgery. I am trying to avoid shiny lipsticks since they show up every flake when I chap - which can happen almost instantly when I start to dehydrate .
Thanks, Malka PS: I am looking for a lipstick without any blue tones in orange to tan range

I usually just use my burt's beezwax chapstick. I would just go to some place like Ulta and look around.

They have two steps lipstick and gloss...so the color stays on and just have to apply the moisture or gloss part...maybeline for one...

Malka, it is hard to find a lip gloss that doesn't have sunscreen in it, but if you're using something with sunscreen in it, it might be causing that continuing chapped feeling. I use one by Savannah Bees that is silky, non-perfumed, non-medicated, and non-sunscreened. I notice that some are now available from the more common makers, but you really have to read the labels carefully. If you could find a tinted lip gloss, it might feel good and look pretty too.
The long-asting Revlon lipsticks are great....they sorta stain your lips, so that you keep some color. They come in a narrow tube. You might try one of those, with a gloss over it. They also are now making a creamy Color-Stay lipstick...worth a try.
I keep some of my nice Mary Kay "super emollient night cream" (like pink vaseline) by my bedside and reapply whenever I wake in the night....along with my spray bottle of Biotene mouth wash. Breathing funny makes our lips dry also, so keep them greased up at night and maybe the days will be more comfortable. I hope so!
