Joined: May 2007 Posts: 104 | Hi, it is 'Jordan's'(Christa Demo) Mom, Linda aka Bailey4.
This has taken me too long to write, just difficult. Misskate and Christa met here a year ago or so....They were both early 30's, vibrant, enchanting, etc!! and fighting tongue cancer. I had been visiting the site for a long time and discovered Kate's blog, and immediatly knew these girls had to meet. Our ole friend Pete Booras helped these girls come together bonding them forever. They helped each other in support that was untouchable by another! Only due to OCF did they find each other and have available that deep friendship.
Kate, her husband and friends, the SF Scots had an event and donated $1000 to OCF in Memory/Honor of Christa Demo, aka Jordan. It has been sent, but Kate & I felt we had to make it known here how very important this site is to it's members for the support, education, heartfelt empathy for one another and unconditional love for each other, and sincere hope for each fighting this disease. Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 790 | Hi Linda! This is such a sweet note. Thanks so much for posting this. OCF is a very important support community for a cancer for which the treatments can be especially grueling to deal with and the aftermath quite difficult both physcially and emotionally. I know that had Christa survived we would have remained very close pals. I was prepared to befriend and support her throughout her recovery from the surgery and treatments. You and I will always be in touch  Please have anyone who needs support or advice suffering form tongue cancer to contact me. I will be writing on my blog mainly from now on LOVE Kate
