I helped in a little way. Firt we took the rib of the pork chops and sliced them super thin. She quick fried them in butter and a touch of salt and seasoned with garlic. Remember I can't eat seasoned food so she was skimpy with the seasoning. She then topped it with ragu alfredo sauce. She cooked some wide egg noodles and then pours the pork sause? over it and mixed it together. I ate it like I haddnt eaten in years the meat was so tender and juicy and of course I have very little problem eating pasta. Well that was a very good and quick meal. I think from what my Rad Dr told me today that I might better enjoy all the solid food I possibly can for a while cause it looks like I may end up having surgery. YUCK. So if you are able to eat a little chunky meal try it it is soooooo goood. Thanks Brenda

I bought some pork barbeque that looked really tender and juicy the other day and, even with added sauce, I could not get the little bits of meat down. I can eat pureed pork pretty easily but I'd LOVE to eat some "real" meat (though it all gets pureed in your stomach anyway). Yes, eat up and enjoy ESPECIALLY if you need surgery.

My mother told me to take real little bites and chew slowly so I tried it her way and I am the last away from the table but 7 out of 10 times I can eat enough to do. keep tryint to eat. I get blisters everytime I do eat anything and have to "pop" them so I can breath. But its getting easier. Go figure I would end up with perhaps another bout of this crap. Keep trying. Brenda

Chicken thighs and legs [dark meat] can be cooked [covered] very slowly and are tender and slippery with gravy or sauce added and cut into small bites. Also, Baby Back pork ribs can be slow cooked, covered, in a 325 degree oven for a couple of hours in the sauce of your choosing and the meat will fall off the bone and is easy to swallow. Risotto [made with arborio rice] can be enhanced with small bites of chicken, fish, ham, asparagus tips, onion, garlic, etc. I use chicken stock [Swansons]for the liquid and this is a filling meal. Or if you are lazy like me use eggbeater (with cheese) and add stuff to it that you can tolerate. I still use this occasionally for a quick meal together with a mushroom soup or so. At this point I am totally sick and tired of chicken noodle soup! Re JAM's post. If you find yourself in the position to have to deal with fast food.... KFC works quite well, especially if you get the dark meat and mac and cheese.... very greasy, so it works (just avoid the skin). One thing that was and to some extent still is annoying is the debris (food particles) in your mouth especially if you eat at a restaurant. Initially, the only solution was to go to the bathroom an rinse with warm water to get this under control. I still have problems with dry meat, rice couscous but vegetables are back on the menu.
Brenda, these blisters you are describing... are they filled with water/liquid? Apparently you get them when you are eating. This sounds similar to what I had 2 months after the end of the rads. In my case these were tiny glands that actually want to work but cannot discharge the liquid because you have a brand new lining in your mouth. So this IS a god thing. When I saw that the first time it freaked me out! It went away after a couple of weeks.

I will give that a shot because it sounds as if I could eat it. I have found that delmonte carrots with just a little bit of butter and nothing else added are so good and sweet just like you would pick them from your garden. Pasta with alfredo sause and carrots is a good meal as well. real easy to swallow. Thanks for the ideas! Brenda
