Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 9 | I have just got my appointment for my first PET scan 1/31/08. I am prepaired to find the cancer that is already known on the right side of my neck (already had a biopsy) but I know there is also a smaller lump on the left side. So, I expect to see that also. Hopefully NOTHING else!
Age 47, Right tonsil removed 1/18/08, large mass in right side of neck. Both have been diagnosed SCC Stage IV, on 1/24/08. Right radical neck dissection and left tonsil removal 2/8/08

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Dad had oral lichens planus, and oral leukoplakia before T2 SCC,2 nodes.
DX10/23/03
IMRT 12/29/03.30 rad,3 boost.
Brachytherapy 3/8-3/11/04.
Recurrence Nov07 Stage IV.
4 Surgeries
No rads, no chemo
I have oral lichens planus,
thrush,leukoplakia 2/20/08
6/2/08 biopsies "inflammation"

I also was diagnosed with Cancer of my right tonsil 3/07, had rightneck dissection 5/07 because the cancer had spread and was in 3 lymph nodes, had radiation - completed 9/07, and I'm back to work 12/07. Remember to keep positive people around you and share your feelings with them. | | |
