This is my second night sitting upright on the sofa--only way to be comfortable because of pain in back/side which woke me up an hour ago and no amount of 'pillow adjusting' could take it away.
having taken my co-codamol, and newly-prescribed 2mg of diazepam expected to sleep like a log and wake up as 'happy fuzzy ball' and stay that way all day! So what went wrong??
Why am I here at 4a.m., coherent, still in pain and looking for distractions????

Brenda,

I agree with Deb...you deserve a break! Can you up the meds on your own? Dan was able to take additional doses as needed with approval of his docs. Hoping the pain subsides and the sleep settles in soon.

Brenda, I wish I had that magic wand to wave. I can imagine what it must be like for you not sleeping very well. I woke up about 4 with the pain starting, but I took a mouthful of that Hydrocodone solution and it wasn't long before I sleeping again. It seems to work pretty quickly and might be what would help you. It is supposed to go to the brain receptors and ease the pain much faster than a pill. Maybe you can get some of this stuff. Thinking about you and hoping you get some needed relief.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
