There is a possibility that it could be fluid, an enlarged lymph node or even a swollen sublingual salivary gland. Good that you are going to have the ENT look at it. Until you are sure what it is don't fill yourself with the fear of the worst.
Thinking and praying for you.

The ducts that allow the saliva to enter the mouth are located under the tonge where it meets the floor of the mouth. The following website gives a good description and picture showing their location. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submandibular_gland These can be palpated in most individual as large roundish, semisolid fixated "lumps" under the tongue. Hope this helps. Thinking and praying for you. Mike

I am so sorry about this. I was so wrapped up in my problem tht I didn't realize what you are going through and you were such a HUGE help to me while you had this concern of your own.
I pray that that this turns out to be no problem.

I know your fear and frustration and can tell you that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I also have just had a bioposy for the mouth ulcers that just will not go away. I was so frustrated when I called to get the results today the nurse told me it would take a week before I would have the results. I think the waiting is the worst. Keep us all updated.
