Hope everyone is having agood day. I want to tell you about a positive experience I am having that has really changed my life.
As many of you are aware through my numerous posts over the years, I have had quite a bit of trouble with neck spasms. It was very difficult and painful. I thought for the longest time that it would just be a side effect I would have to live with for the rest of my life. No amount of physical therapy or massage would do the trick. Nothing worked.
Anyway, I went to my Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor for my normal checkup and she suggested Botox. I have to admit I didn
SCC 1.6cm Right Tonsil 10/3/03, 1 Node 3cm, T1N2AM0, Tonsil Removed, Selective Neck Disection, 4 Wks Induction Chemo (Taxol,Cisplatin), 8 Weeks Chemo/Radiation (5FU,Hydroxyurea,Iressa), IMRT x 40, Treatment Complete 2/13/04. 41 Years Old At Diagnosis

He's been trying to eat foods rich in potassium (like bananas, fish, etc.) to help with the neck spasms . I haven't read anything anywhere about a connection between potassium and the relief of neck spasms but it was encouraging to read about the Botox. Are the treatments terribly expensive and does insurance cover them?
