I am 3 mos post radiation and have started having excruciating, sharp pain in my tongue. It lasts 5 to 10 minutes, then subsides. My ENT says it is due to radiation damage. Anyone else have this happen? Any relief?

Betty

I am 4 mos. post radiation and have not experienced any pain in my tongue however, they damaged a nerve in surgery and the left side of my tongue is still numb. I'm wondering if I will ever have feeling again.

11/28/2006. Left lateral tongue, partial glossectomy, T3, moderately differentiated. 12 lymph nodes from neck, all clear. IMRT, 30X, ended 02/21/2007.
