Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 108 | Dear Maz; My heart goes out to you. Many of us on this board know so well the lead-like drop of bad news in the pit of our stomach. If you can try to think of this surgery as a war won, the victory you can have through early diagnosis and treatment of a recurrance. I carried my primary around for a long time before I sought treatment..it didn't hurt and I was busy and happy. Since entering treatment, both radiation and surgery have added a lorry load of discomfort and other physical challenges. Do I regret it? Most definitely not; for without treatment I would not be alive now. Knowledge is our friend not our enemy.
Please ask your Doc as many questions as you need to, it's their job/vocation to help you understand what's ahead.
I hope for peace to accompany you on this next stage of your journey.
 Fran
