Hi Jack,
That's great news! It sounds like everything went exceptionally well. He will be hurting from the tonsillectomy, it's a tough operation for an adult. Let's keep praying that those nodes come back clear and also for those folks who don't have support. I can't imagine going through this on my own.

Yippee!!!

We all take the good news as it comes and gladly. And don't dwell on the bad.

Eric will do fine especially with all the support he has. And remember each of us handles treatment differently. I didn't have as bad side effects as many on this board. Thankfully.

Keep us posted and give Eric our best.

Jack, this is wonderful news! I suspect he is going to be pretty miserable for a couple of days. I remember when my husband, a pretty tough character, had his tonsils out at age 25. He had one nasty sore throat for about a week. Lots of Jell-O and ice cream, that's for sure. My experience with the neck dissection was that the pain was absolutely minimal, and it was the swelling and drains which were a nuisance. Eric should be fine with you and his family there to support him. Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know this good outcome.

Jack, I have been reading your posts from the beginning, I am ready to write something back. It is late here so I'll keep it short. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. Your attention to Eric and his family is the highest example of human kindness. I hope you both rest easy and I pray his tonsillectomy is not as painful as some are.

Take care

Thanks again everyone for all the messages and support. I have to admit I have become very interested to see what is new on the board!

Eric is going home tomorrow. He adjusted to his medication, the nausea ended and he is left with a sore neck and a very sore throat from his surgery. A good friend of his will be staying with him for at least five or six days. She has a great sense of humor and is the best choice to be around during the first few days home. His parents will be there often I am sure.

I came back home last night. Got eleven hours of straight sleep, and woke up feeling better than I have since this started. Having a great outcome on the surgery really boosted everyone

I'm glad Eric is recovering so well! I wanted to go home so much while I was in the hospital. It is so much easier to rest and start to feel like yourself again,no matter how nice everyone is,because there you are a patient! So that is great that he is homewardbound. And by the way you are remarkable! So take that pat on the back.My husband is there caring for me 24/7 and it's emotionally a rough road and I thank God every day for him. Both of my adult children have distanced themselves emotionally and physically from me as they don't want to deal with this.So you have jumped in and helped a measure and more!I think this is the right way to help friends ,family, and our neighbors but it dosen't always happen like that.I'm praying for you both and hope the news from here on out is good......Sue(susanlaura1)
