I have heard it mentioned once or twice - but don't know much about it. Has anyone on here every had proton radiation instead of the traditional radiation?
If yes, do you know where you can recieve it across the US? I think that MD Anderson had a center - but didn't know if any other centers exist.
Thanks.

Burton Proton Therapy Center at Mass.General, as well as Loma Linda Univ.Med.Ctr. If you do a google search for Proton Radiation Centers you will see a few.

Seems as right now they are using it more for things like Head and neck where they are sensitive areas. Just wondering if the side effects are the same or different than traditional radiation.

See if you can get it by going to the web site www.oncology-times.com . I had to read it about 3 times before I understood it (at least I think I do). I would scan it but the publication is an odd size, 11" by 15" so try the web first. If you can't get that way, e me and I'll try to copy and piece it together.
