I am almost 5 months out now, I had left neck dissection and 33 rads. Don't know if this had anything to do with the radiation or not but whenever I bend my head down, I get a tingling sensation that goes the whole way down my back. Went to a massage therapist but that didn't help and she couldn't give me an explanation for the cause. Anyone else ever experienced this? Should I tell my doctor and can anything be done to stop this weird feeling?

That is a normal post radiation symptom, it feels like a mild shock It should get better over time.

Hi Barbara,

I had the same feeling for quite some time, like over a year. Mine I think has finally gone I think.

Have a look at this thread:

Cheers!

Tizz

Absolutely normal Barbara, It is strange at first but will usually get better.

Thanks for the info., I was beginning to worry and think something else was wrong with me. Thanks Tizz for the link to the thread. Now I can relax a little. I've got my three month pet scan and visit coming up mid-Nov. I'm nervous about that too, does it get easier with time to calm down before a check up?

Michael, this discussion is about weird tingles. If you are having wierd tingles that is a different thing.

(i before e except in the English language ) :p

Barbara, it does get somewhat easier over time but I still get a little worried before dr. visits. One day at a time....

Hey Barb,

I had the same thing. The first time it happened it freaked me right out. I was driving nd dropped something. I looked down and ZZZZZZZAAAAAPPP!
I thought oh well here we go again. Then I found out from the fine folks here that it is normal.
There is a french name for it although I cant remember what it is, it is normal.
Take care Robert

Didn't have radiation but did get the weird tingles in my neck area from the MND. Took over a year to get feeling back in most of the right side of my neck and tongue.
