This will be my first since treatment. I just want it to be ok, because my husband just can't take to much more. All of this has been real hard on him. It has been hard on me too. As you all know. I can only hope for the best. I guess I worry because I thought we got it the first time with the tounge 2004. So I know it can come back. I am getting more up tight as time gets closer. Yet I want to know too. It is a mixed emotions at this point. I am sure this is all normal. I have one prayer I say to my self all the time it helps. Here it is "Thank You God for what I have and Thank You God for what I don't have" I started that prayer when I was about 25. Many years ago. It helps on anything. Ok, I just wanted a place to vent...... sorry bye for now. DM

If some prayer help to comfort so be it, I am not an overtly religious person but I pray when I feel the need. Anything that can bring comfort and peace of mind is a good thing. Because only knows that in our situation there are plenty of times that anxiety raises its ugly head. I pray for strength to handle anything that is thrown my way. This thing that we have hanging over our heads sure can be tough sometimes. Be strong DM all is well. always lenny | | |

Prayer has helped me so much through all of this, and I know what a strain it can be on your Husband. I go to dailyword.com everyday and pray quietly and it seems to help. Keep up your strength...better days are ahead!!

it is normal to be nervous. I'm sure we all were or are when it comes to the scans. I pray that yours is clear like mine.
During my treatment, I was on several prayer circles from both coasts. I'm sure it helped. I hope you post soon and tell us the results. My thoughts, prayers and concerns are with you.

I will let you know how it comes out. I think the reason I am so up tight is that my experience with Chemo & radiation were not good. When I was in radiation the gal that started me pin me down to tight and I could not breath. This happen for the first 3 days. I started having anxiety attacks. Which I had never had before. Then they switched her out & a different gal took over. She was better, but it still was hard to go through. My Chemo was fine for the frist one. Then the 2nd one was hard on me. I was in hospital off & on the first week. They could not give me the 3rd cause it would kill me. So this is why I am a little nervious about it. I just have to learn to face what ever comes. Thanks DM

It is also VERY common for the scans to be read and interpreted in such a manner that they won't be black and white in their findings (my first scans drove me crazy). Do NOT let this discourage you or add more fear. Scans are only a small part of the total diagnostic package. I didn't have a clean MRI for almost a year.
They should have given you meds for anxiety - most of us got them. It wouldn't hurt you to have them now either. You will have less angst the further you get from this.
My chemo experience was also the same as yours - They had to shorten it by one (I tell myself because I responded SO WELL to treatment). I am three years+ cancer free today and doing great. So will you.
Hang in there.

Yes, good news it was cancer FREE ! I held my breath as he gaves us the results. I go back again in 3 months. Now for the bad news. I had hearing test done. Due to chemo & radiation I have had hearing loss. It may improve some, but the chances I guess are slim. I am going to hope for improvement! I will not know for sure untill another 3 months.(give it a chance to heal some more)If I should have any more Chemo it will wipe it out. Lucky for me I do know sign Language!!! Gary I never have received any Meds. for Depression or Anxiety. I have always just went through it. Never gave it a thought. I guess I was to busy taking other pills, brushing teeth, getting sick to think about it. Ha ha! I want to thank all of you who have given me support getting ready for 1st scan. Thank You! Thank YOU! Ps. it was a long day DM
