Caretaker of Mom with Unresectable stage IV SCCHN, T1-3,T4..No,N1,N2-3. IMRT daily treatment starting 8/24/05. Erbitux every week starting 8/10/05 and Cisplantin every 3 weeks times 3. Diagnoised 7/5/05 -passed and in peace now on 10/1/05

First let me say how sorry I am for your loss. My husband died last Thanksgiving at 33 of tongue cancer. I can sympathize with you and the hospice experience you had. I'm not sure what oral cancer your Mom suffered with but I'm sure it wasn't a good one no matter what she had.
I am glad I got to say our final goodbyes as well. To this day though, I think I can accept the dying part more than the suffering part. To watch someone you love suffer so bad, it really hurts beyond words.
We all must keep pushing for early awareness. Our loved ones are in a better place. They deserve that especially for all they went through.
