It should take only a few days for biopsy results.

My first biopsy of a tongue mass took more than a week... My second biopsy of a lymph node several months later(using CT-guided needle) took less than 2 days... I had a GREAT ENT who knew I would die if I didn't know quickly with that second one (I had already been diagnosed with SCC several months before)...

I'm glad others suggested the dye and the brush biopsy options for you BObby -- I would ask about that...

Tongue cancer (SCC), diagnosed Oct. 2003 (T2 N0 M0). Surgery to remove tumor. IMRT Radiation 30x in Dec 2003 - Jan. 2004. Recurrence lymph node - radical neck dissection June 2004. Second round of rad/chemo treatments ended Sept. 2004.
