OK, thank goodness he was kidding! Sorry, I got on my soapbox- can't stand the thought of medical personnel with no compassion! Don't usually go on a rant, but some weeks are tougher than others.......

Dear Lepreckaun, sorry that I am chiming in late here- but- pleae cry when you feel like it! You are experiencing radiation txs- not easy on anyone- it's great to be strong, but not so great to deny what is happening to your body. You sound strong-that's a good thing smile Amy in the Ozarks

I had only radiation and was lucky did not need a peg tube. It was painfull eating and the last week of treatment and 2 weeks after the treatment were the hardest that I was pretty much on just liquids like boost. That was even hard to get down because of the pain of swallowing. Use of pain meds like a lidocan solution which there are varous mixes of helps before you eat to num the throat. Don't worry you will get through it, just eat and use the meds that you need to ask the doc to give if you need them.

SCC R-Tonsil T2 NO MO Dec 2003. Completed IMRT Radiation only to tonsils(72Gy) and neck(55Gy)March 04. Detected at age 50.
