It was painfull eating and the last week of treatment and 2 weeks after the treatment were the hardest that I was pretty much on just liquids like boost. That was even hard to get down because of the pain of swallowing. Use of pain meds like a lidocan solution which there are varous mixes of helps before you eat to num the throat. Don't worry you will get through it, just eat and use the meds that you need to ask the doc to give if you need them.
SCC R-Tonsil T2 NO MO Dec 2003. Completed IMRT Radiation only to tonsils(72Gy) and neck(55Gy)March 04. Detected at age 50.
