Hello Everyone!
It's been 5 years since my fifth oral cancer surgery (palatectomy) and I am very thankful to have had no recurrences during that time. I only have 6 remaining teeth in my left side of the maxilla and those teeth are beginning to fail. This is a problem as those teeth are what anchor the obturator. I have been advised to consider zygomatic implants and I wondered if anyone here has undergone that procedure?
Thank you!

I know they attach to the cheekbone, not the jawbone. It might be an option. Other than that, I don't know much. I am going to investigate those at my next appointment with my oral surgeon in November.

Thanks James for responding. I saw my radiation oncologist to make sure the zygomatic bone had not received too much radiation during treatment. I will be going to a maxillofacial prosthodontist on Monday to speak with a specialist about the procedure. It is promising for patients with maxilla and palatal defects from surgery. I'll update here after the appointment.
