My new comment is that cancer was nothing in comparison to this. Cancer was horrible, I"m not downplaying it one bit but at least he kept fighting and won. He is staying in bed or sitting and watching TV and drinking all day long, doing nothing productive. This has gone on for weeks. He has had one interview but his son says he needs to accept he won't make as much money and apply for jobs. It's like he's waiting for something wonderful to fall in his lap.
yikes! I wasn't completely recovered from the toll on me getting him through cancer and now we wait.......
Spouse of 58 yr old with BOT cancer Stage 4a HPV16 positive 3 chemo treatments cisplantin 35 radiation treatments 7000 cGy former smoker/chewed tobacco for 38 yrs. 1/2020 diagnosed with cancer near TMJ 4/2020 chemo 5 days every 2 weeks 6/2020 proton therapy 9/21/2020 cancer free

I don't have depression, never dealt with cancer, but have lost a job and left a career I loved and mourned the loss. I"m kind of a warrior type so I'm not knowledgeable about depression and how it affects a person long term.
