I like to write the state of the tumor growth and express my pain feelings here before I go for surgery. This is all for knowledge purpose.
Pain Status : The day I was diagnosed with cancer by an oral surgeon and right ahead of surgery next week. Only time I had pain was 3 days after biopsy due to stitches. Never had trouble in chewing, swallowing or speaking equally using both jaws and sides.
Tumor and white patches on tongue surface: White patches dramatically have reduced (disappear) since biopsy was performed. Tumor size has remain consistent and the same in diameter (about 1.5-2.00 cm) with no additional growth (at least from outside).
Thickness of tongue: This has remain same between the day of biopsy and today. Meaning, I personally don't suspect that tumor has grown inside dramatically (similar to other victims who have written/reported that, they had an egg size tumor came out at the time of surgery, I don't see this possibility here in my case.) Tongue is slim equally on both side with no other unusual traits.
Thanks

Do you know your HPV status? Since you smoked for some time it seems like that might be the likely cause. Hang in there, the treatments will be starting soon. Good luck, Don
