Hello Connie cruz,

Thanks for your advice.

Iam doing my best to get this diagnosed by consulting different Head and neck oncologist surgeons but the major hurdle seems to be the detection methods.Iam just hoping that detection methods will improve with time.
You need to be under the care of a qualified dental "expert" in your country. Let's see what they say.
With the kind of population we have in India and limited numbers of doctors, they have much more knowledge and experience than doctors in developed countries. Only issue here is that doctors are not forthcoming due to sensitivity and reactivity of the patients and their families.
With these symptoms iam sure that its related to cancer but iam not able to confirm medically as most of the head and neck oncologist/ENT/DENTISTS have ruled out any kind of cancer as they dont see any white/red patches/sore/lump.
You are not an expert to conclude this and you need to trust your doctor. Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disease, symptoms may mimic cancer and that is why you had lung biopsy to confirm sarcoidosis.

You said you have quit smoking and drinking, but are you being honest? Since you had been smoking, you need to be watchful as others have mentioned.

Coming back to Sarcoidosis, when did you had your last Chest x-ray and review with the treating doctor?

Hello Eshwar,

I started this post to know if there are any other methods to identitify oral cancer across the globe other than checking for physical white/red patches/sore/lump which i feel needs to improve.Iam aware of the new methods that are in clinical trails phase and will be very happy once they become a part of the main detection/treatment process.

Absolutely you are right iam not a expert and i should be trusting doctor words but the symptoms/experiences/situations/past habbits doesnt allow me to acknowledge their words.
DOctors/surgeons ive met till now are highly skilled in their respective domains and i can tell you they are one of the best in the world.
Iam one of those fortunate ones who got diagnosed for sarcoidosis with just symptoms and chest x-ray in very less time.Other tests including biopsy were done to confirm the same. This itself speaks volumes on the expertise of the doctors.

What iam looking for is a out of box thinking from a doctor to diagnose my problem. For the record let me tell you that ive stopped both smoking/drinking completeley and its been a long time already.Iam being completely honest on what ive said.

Regarding sarcoidosis iam following with the doctors(Pulmonologist/Eye specialist) at regular intervals (every 4-5 months) for the past 3 years and chest x-ray/ACE levels are normal for more than a year.My last visit was 3 months back.

After experiencing my so called cancer like symptoms my sarcoid symptoms starts ie dryness in eyes/sudden anxiety/palpitations increases for a short period of time.

I feel that there is a strong link between sarcoidosis & steroids, low Vitamin D and cancer. Its like a vicious circle.

Thank you
