I've taken some food in orally and will take in formula later (just will accept a low calorie day) I'm on the verge of vomiting again and imagine I will after I take more food and formula later. I can't imagine vomiting out everything I take in and losing all that nutrition and calories. I took some zofran this morning that I had from the dr after my surgery and it didn't help. Now what? Maybe I'm stuck with this.... Christine thanks for all that info...I'm still getting the pump regardless what the problem is.

I have found the following prescription meds helpful with nausea: Reglan and Phenergan. Zofran was not helpful to me. Do some research and you may want to talk with your doctor about these meds if your nausea persists.

I always swear by Zofran, I still take it once in a while.

Zofran didn't seem to help. Waiting for insurance to approve pump. Feel worse after I have a bolous feeding. I'm so nauseous I can barley think straight.

I suffered some degree of vomiting when I started on the PEG as well. I could correlate it back to adding a higher calorie formula, too fast through the syringe and too much activity shortly after feeding. Also seemed to occur right after getting up (after lying down or being sedentary for awhile). Zofran worked for me as long as I took it at regular intervals, prior to onset of any nausea.
Keep working to figure it out, but don't stop swallowing if you are not eating orally. I always sipped on mineral water and kept the swallowing going and it has paid off post treatment.
Best of luck.
Jasper

I'm hoping the pump the doctor ordered will come in quickly, and solve this problem. Yesterday I heaved my guts out and by the looks of it, lost everything I had taken in all day. My dietician seems to think the formula should not be changed since I've been tolerating it up until now. I started using the PEG at the beginning of August. Never felt great after using it, but never threw up. This morning ....all I am doing is sipping water. I've been faithful with the reglan, but still can barely function. Brushes my teeth, making soda rinse and got online here...and I'm barely holding on til I the dry heaves start. Longing for the days when I can write something positive. I'm like a broken record....

I do know that when I was sick often for me it was nerves, if I could lay in bed and listen to some calming music and get my mind off it it was better. Pretty much all I can do in this instance is listen and remind you its not going to last forever, your gonna get through this. I look forward to reading your updates and keep sending positive thoughts your way. Take care of yourself.
