Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 118 | My husband has an appt. with the second surgeon tomorrow and I don't want to forget anything to ask. If someone has an idea of questions we should ask the Dr. they would be greatly appreciated.

dx 1: SCC Soft Palate (12/06)
tx: chemo and rad
dx 2: SCC 6 cm tum rt. vocal chord (12/09)
tx: total laryngectomy with stoma, 2 nodes
dx 3: SCC 4 cm tum BOT (10/16/12)
Tx: partial gloss w/ mod deck dis 4 nodes incl. part. pharyngectomy

Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,264 Likes: 5 | You've been through this so many times... I think at this point you could probably give pointers to the drs. I really would ask about more rads and chemo. Things have changed since 2006 and its been six years. I think perhaps maybe to do a clean sweep he should definitely have the surgery, then chemo and rads as follow up. There are a few here who've had it several times. Actually one woman at MD anderson has had it something like 5 times. She says her dr. always finds a way to give her more. She's cancer free now.
The surgery is a necessity no doubt and I am sure your hubby doesn't want to do chemo and rads again, but maybe its a way to get rid of this once and for all.
