Thank you to all who donated or participated in the April oral cancer awareness events.

It was a busy month for OCF, a record number of walks were held around the country! My goal is to have at least one walk in each state, and we are getting there.

I receive calls every day of someone wanting to do something, it is so wonderful to talk to such passionate people who want to make a difference!

Keep checking our events site, we have events coming up in Florida, Texas, Minnesota, Colorado, Chicago, New Jersey, Ohio, Massachussetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, California and Iowa!! Just to name a few!

Thank you again and if anyone wants to start something in their community, please let me know.

All my best,

Susan

Is there a form somewhere to use to get donations from work and friends and neighbors? You know something legal looking so they can see it IS for OCF?
Thanks!

Currently, we have our website/donor drive where people can go and donate and also receive an online receipt for tax purposes. Also we do have donation envelopes we can send you from our main office you can pass out to friends/family/co-workers. Just send me your address in a PM and I will get some out to you.

Is this what you were looking for?

Thanks

Susan

Straight donations not associated with an event or with someone's personal campaign to raise money for OCF are here

http://www.ocfstore.org/donate.asp

They can print out a copy of their donation invoice at the end of the process for their IRS records.

If it is related to an event, they can select the event, then the person or team that they wish to support here

http://donate.oralcancer.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.home

As above, they can print out at the end of their process a receipt for the IRS.

Suez, if you are gong to work to raise money (thank you for considering doing this for the foundation), I suggest that you create a personal campaign like Christine Brader has done, and which you can see on the home page of our Donor Drive software. It allows you to tell people what and why your are doing this, upload a photo, does it all online from any computer, and then tracks your totals for all to see. You can share the campaign on Facebook and other platforms to expand your reach and success. If you have difficulty in setting this up, just call Jamie at the OCF office or send her a note by email, and she will walk you through it. 949-723-4400

There are still several OCF events coming up all around the country. Anyone able to attend PLEASE do! Just take a few hours out of your day to show support for OCF.

At the awareness walks there are free oral cancer screenings so bring your friends and relatives to get checked. Oral cancer patients/survivors are free to attend the walks.

Check out the link to see if there is a walk near you.....

I've been checking the events coming up and noticed that many of the events listed on the main page don't show where or what the dates are until you click on the event itself. So if you want to know the dates for all of them to see if one is close to you, it is necessary check the whole list. Well, I did that so now I know where to go and when.

Then I noticed on the little calendar to the right of this page, you can click on the month and you get a big calendar that you can list events in! So I listed the David Nasto Memorial Walk for September 22, 2012 and the only thing is that the OCF calendar says September 22 is on a Friday and my iPhone calendar says Sept 22 is on a Saturday. Also, I'm assuming the OCF calendar is for personal use? Is there some way the upcoming events could be listed there for everyone to see? It would be a way we could all see what events are coming up. Just a thought.

There is an option to make a posting on what is normally your private calendar, to make a event date public. I have put a test event up in November if you can see it please let me know.

Suez...Good job on the fund raising by the way my friend! I knew you would do well and it looked like you really got into it!

I know this year has been fun for me, participating in the San Antonio walk, then Chicago and then helping organize the Seattle event. They are so fun, inspiring, life changing in my opinion. I'm glad you plugged in Sue and you really did fantastic at getting the word out on FB! Way to go girl!!
