Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Partial glossectomy (25%) anterior tongue. 4/6/07/. IMRT start @5/24/07 (3x) Erbitux start/end@ 5/24/07. IMRT wider field (30x) start 6/5/07. Weekly cisplatin (2x30mg/m2), then weekly carbo- (5x180mg/m2). End of Tx 19 July 07.

It would be interesting to see how everyone is welcoming in the New Year. Very quiet, here. My son, Paul is having friends over with offer of a sleep over for anyone welcoming the New Year a little too much. My other son came over for breakfast and will also be at home. Daughter and her family are at their condo in Myrtle Beach. All's quiet on the Eastern front. Life is good.

Female, nonsmoker, 70, diag. 5/09 after tongue biopsy: stage IV. Left hemi-gloss. and left selec. neck disec. 30 lymph nodes removed May 20. Over 7 weeks daily rads. with three chemo. PEG removed 12/4/09 Am eating mostly soft foods. Back to work 11/09 Retired 4/1/11. 7 clear scans! Port out 9/11. 2/13. It's back: base of tongue, very invasive surgery involving lifestyle changes. 2/14: Now speaking w/Passey-Muir valve. Considering a swallow study. Grateful to be alive.

Bob age 57, non smoker,non drinker, ended treatment on 11 Nov 2007 and started back to work on 29 Nov 2007. Veterans Day 2012 the Battle was lowered, folded, Taps was played and the Flag buried as I am know a 5 year survivor. Semper-FI !!!

Debbie, caregiver to Pat my loving husband of 32 years. T1 N2a M0 squamous cell carcinoma of the left base of tongue. Started on concurrent cisplatin and radiation, first cycle was 09/26/2011, 35 rad, 2 chemo. Last Rad 11-11-11 at 1!!!!

70 male, athlete...again SSC of undetermined orgin , early july 09 40 tx radiation, 8 chemo cisplatin and ebuterx finished TX in mid Sept 09 Clear at the 6 year mark! Back to swimming, biking and running! just a tad slower never regained my weight, even when I eat lots and lots, just a skinny guy now
Just way glad to be seeing the green side up!

It was a quiet very nice night for Ron and I we spent it playing Rummy and he beat me! I told that to my kids and he said don't say it that way, it sounds like I beat you up. Silly guy! And I was doing good until I decided to do a toast with a shot of Jack Daniels cuz I didn't have any Champagne...I woke up New Years Day with the much dreaded slight hangover, but I got my Prime Rib all done up and kids came over(except for my son...who is now on mom's you know what list) all in all it was a great start to the New Year, now to get thru Ron's surgery on the 13th with good news THAN it will be a Good Year
