Hi folks
Hope this finds you well.
I�ve been tossing up whether to �plug� this for a while, but having been encouraged on previous posts to not hold back on �good news stories� thought I�d go with it�

Some of you might remember a post a while back now where I talked about my first gig post-surgery�was pretty excited at the time...

Well, this post is about an album I�ve finally finished.

Thanks in no small part to a certain major surgery, this album took us two years to make (we were three months in when we had to postpone)�but it�s finally done. It�s a good feeling.

Anyway, for those of you about to have surgery yourself and freaking out about what the outcome might be have a listen and download these: black bird hum - JJJ unearthed (the vocals for the first two songs are post-surgery, the other song was just before)

I know everyone�s situation is different, but I guess it�s an example of what a bit of positive thinking and an awesome plastic surgeon can do!

removed 21/12/09 plus left neck dissection and upper arm flap.

Congratulations! Hope your album does well.


David R. 65 yr old male non-smoker, light drinker, stage 3 or 4, depending on which doc you ask, scc rt. tonsil, 2 nodes, 7 weeks radiation and chemo. No surgery. Teatment ended 3/20/08. PET scan 8/08 showed no cancer.
And now, as of oct, 2010, caregiver to wife, Linda, with breast cancer.
May, 2013, Linda diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Enuf already.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

57 when diagnosed. Heavy smoker. Social drinker. Diagnosed 7/9/09 with tonsil, tongue & neck cancer. Chemo induction (Cisplatin, 5FU & Taxotere) & 35 radiation tx + 7 Carboplatin.
Head and neck CAT scan on 1/15/10 shows no cancer.
1/27/12 First PET/CAT scans in 2 years - All clear!!
recurrence mid-2015

The music is awesome! It has an upbeat,catchy and inspirational vibe to it. I can listen to it over & over. I think I will:o)

An example of positive thinking, an awesome plastic surgeon - plus great determination & talent!

Marginal mandibulectomy 6/17/08 resulted in DX of Stage I SCC - gingiva (3 mm) right mandible, buccal side. Clear margins. Occasional social drinker. Smoked last cigarette in 1979. Clear pet: 12/08; 7/20/09. Yay!
