hello again sorry i have not been online for almost a month! wow record for me! haha.. well we did find out that dad's thyroid med (synthroid) had to be adjusted.. he really does seem to be a slump for the past 3weeks.. i told him that he is doing great and he is already almost 6months out of surgery.. we will all adjust to our new "normal" life with him together.. he is currently on the 50mcg fentanyl patch and takes a norco (1000) every 5 hours.. his main complaint now seems to be a headache.. thank you all once again for your replies. they are a tremendous help.. i hope that my dad some day soon can get here online and read all these posts so he can see that he is not alone in this horrible battle.. God Bless.
Nicki

Nicki, thank you for the update. I am so glad your dad has the pain under control. He has gone thru so much! Some members print selected posts and give them to their OC survivor. Then he can read for himself and realize he has many people from all over the world in his corner rooting for him.

OCF is an amazing place! We are all in this together. Be well to you Nicki's dad!!!!! Nicki, you are a wonderful caregiving daughter!!!! You should be proud of yourself and how you have stepped up to the challenge of being your father's voice. Im sure your father appreciates every little thing you do for him!!!

Glad your dad is doing better...! That's good news - it does take time but he'll get there. Good luck! And take care

hello, i will admit these posts got me a little teary-eyed.. very kind words.. great idea too about printing these out for my dad.. he has been so out of it lately.. i asked him today, are you tired, depressed, is the pain ok? he just shrugs his shoulders, like he doesnt know how he feels.. seeing him laying around like this is just really out of his character.. i explained to him that he is 6months out of surgery and days will get better and to keep his head up, but its ok to hang it down too sometimes.. thank you again for your words of encouragement..
