It may seen strange to highlight those of us from outside America,but due to the vast differences in our healthcare systems and also the levels of technology and treatment protocols it may be helpful to newbies who may find information more appropriate for the country they reside in.

As for happenings in the USA , it seems we are being punished for our behavior in this great world and God is showing us that things can get much worse. There are just too many tradgedies occuring here and most are Major. Talk about the land down under... WOW it seems to be us. This might not be the right place for this post but if so. I'm sorry.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

We call them the 'Snowbirds' so many tend to migrate in for the Winter season - some arrive by air, some by RV. SoCal seems to be among there favorite Winter havens
But then I'm flying with a flock of them back to Toronto, then Quebec in a week, but unlike 'Snowbirds' I won't stay the season - just a few weeks.

Over on the east coast Snowbirds are anyone who heads south (usually FL) for the winter. It was always my dream to become a snowbird when I retired and spend my winters where it was warm.

I can't find any derogatory use of the word Canuck, The call themselves that proudly, there was a WW2 Canadian poster character/soldier by that name, one of the first and most famous jets in the world was named the Canuck, and of course they are found of their sports team named equally. So "OCF Canuks" will be it unless I hear an objection from one of them.

I had also heard the term before and wondered what it meant.
A quick google gives so many and varied possibilities but I like this one....
As to the origin of "Canuck," it may have arisen as a blending of "Canadian" and the Inuit (Eskimo) word "inuk,"
