If I can smell cigarrettes, am I in danger, or do I need to be in the smoke flume out in the warehouse?
If I have to go out there, I make sure I stand 10'-20' away from them.
Any insight here?
Best!!

HOpe someone can help you with a answer, and hope they stop allowing that soon, that is just gross and wrong all at once. Make them smoke outside, it might help them stop,

It's a health issue.

It is so much nicer going to a restaurant/bar and not coming home and smelling like an ashtray.

It happened to me today on the way home from work, It is awful and I was a chain smoking bafoon. Get this, I am back at work around all those fumes and have several employees who smoke around me in the shop. OSHA wouldn't like this very much but I am so scared to rat them out to OSHA because everyone would know it's me. I am already in hot water as it is by getting my job back, but gosh this situation is rough and I know no other way to make money. But then again, I wouldn't have said all this last year when I totally enjoyed freedom of smoking inside the shop. As a former nicotine toker I never realized how selfish I was actually being.

I'm glad you got your job back, but I'm sure it's rough putting up with the smoke. My daughter has a condo at the beach and the whole condo is smoke free and no smoking allowed either inside or outside. My daughter only rents to friends and only non-smokers because even if people smoke outside, the smell gets in the clothes and furniture and then you can smell it inside, too.

Everyday I just go to work, not to be the best I can be anymore, Not to further my knowledge and definately not to help improve this company. Not another damn day will they get my best, as Michael Jackson once said " They don't really care about us". I am under the gun everyday and I do just enough to not get fired, and I know they're constantly hunting me because of some of the questions other employees ask me. I play dumb, don't take any kind of leadership role anymore, those brown noser's can have that crap. I just wish I could grab the courage to call OSHA on them, but they would know and I would be set up. My goal is to work long enough to get my feet back on the ground, us comfortable again and then I am going to make my move. I don't want to die at 46-50 years old like the rest of these guys, I want out. I hate cigarettes with a damn passion now, and I will leave with my favorite denial qoute of the day. " I just like to think of all the one's who smoked all their lives and never got sick, and the one's that were health nuts who still got cancer." How can you even retort back to such a statement?
Your Friend, Nate
