After the first Chemo treatment of Cisplatin, a hearing test was done and there was some permament hearing loss. He then had his second Chemo treatment and there has been more hearing loss, almost 50db.
Thank you to Christine, from this Forum, that informed me that hearing loss is unacceptable. Our ENT dr. agreed and has spoken to our onocologist and they are planning to change the chemo drug to Cetuximab. We are meeting with the onocologist on Monday to find out the details.

Im very happy that you spoke up and got this taken care of before he got another dose. Not just that but thanks to you, other patients wont have hearing loss like your husband did. I got the double whammy with the 3 doses of cisplatin and long term opiate use. It doesn't bother him as much, but it sure makes me testy. I'll have to remember this and not be so snippy when I repeat myself.
