He did well the first few days then they took the pump off and gave him a shot of something called Neaulstae? To increase his WBC count, they said he would hert all over and he sure did. He also is nauseated and vomiting. So for two days he hasn't been able to eat anything but bits of this and that. I told him it is time to use the tube. He has 12 days until his next chemo, go home with the pump agian and of course another shot. Can I expect he will feel like this agian and do the Dr.s lower the dose based on how you felt the first time around. He felt good before all this started and I hate to think that this treatment will be what ends it. Loving daughter-

Does your Dad have anything for the nausea? If not, he should call on Monday and have his docs prescribe something. The chemo dose will not be lowered (it wouldn't be effective if it was) but the side effects can be managed. I had to try a couple of things before finding what worked for me, kept hydrated (which is surprisingly important for nausea) and was fairly nausea-free once we had the right course worked out. If you can get him to use the tube at least for hydration that might help for the time being.
I think the pain associated with the Neulasta should minimize with each dose.

It dried up my sinuses too much though! I was very, very lucky that I had no nausea whatsoever from the chemo. Took the anti-nausea meds and they worked like a charm!

No matter what the preconceived feelings or bias this drug may bring, its hard to argue its effectiveness. Mj will ease pain, give a sense of well-being , ease nausea and with the added benefit of making you hungry. No known drug interactions or cases of overdose (to my knowledge). I believe the stigma the general medical population has with it is the barbaric delivery system of smoking it. Vaporize ...takes care of that issue . No matter what the thought of Mj is, its just a tool, like the other harsh drugs a cancer patient has to use. If its legal in your state ask your Dr about it. If not, ask your stoner friend and don't get caught

I put carnation instant breakfast through his tube because the ensure smell makes him want to vomit. I taked with him a bit ago and seems to be much better than this morning. He also needed a spirit lifter, He hates feeling so helpless like a baby he stated. I wonder how the next TX will be? the same or worse? He used to smoke MJ years ago and I had a friend ask me about it, I'm sure he would if it was available. Dr's probable don't offer it you probably have to ask? Thank you all soo much and Smile because spring is on its way! something to look forward to instead of this thing called Cancer.
