After what I have been through with Rod, what all of you guys and Rod are going through/have gone through being patients, after reading a lot of forums & topics today, I had a tear in my eye...you are all so very very brave, and I send my love to you all...xxx

Wife/Carer of Rod, 56, Dx 5/3/09, SCC Oropharnyx T4 N2, End Tx 28th 07/09, 7wks Rad, 3 Cisplatin, primary tonsil, 4cm Lymph right of neck, 1cm left, in jaw & soft palate & base of tongue. Peg 06/09. CT & PET scans 02/11 - NED. Dentures 20/09/11, PEG out 28/10/11.

Ya right Jeanna, I totally agree with you. All Patients are so brave. I also salute all patients who ever got any suffer and successfully out of their pain.
Actually i salute their caregivers also who give their love and care to a patient.

I don't know if it's that we are brave as much as the fact that we have no choice but to press on. We are so involved with our treatments that are minds are thusly occupied. Our spouses or partners and families, on the other hand have to watch us go through it all and are totally helpless to do anything.
You hang in there Jeanna give Rod plenty of hugs and know you are very much appreciated.

Stage 4 squamous cell tonsil cancer. Two lymph nodes involved surgically removed before source found to be tonsil. Implant radiation right on tonsil, regular mask radiation therapy for two months and a final Implant radiation. All clear confirmed by PET scans for 6 years.

No, I'm definitely brave. It's my ninja skills and CIA Covert Spy and Combat training that have prepared me to be able to look fear and death in the eye and laugh...hahahahaaa! It's a rare gift that's both a blessing and a burden...and yes I am this full of it most of the time.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

"Brave" is certainly emboldened by the "why" mentioned in Eric's signature line.

CG to son, Paul (age 33, non-smoker) SCC Stage 2, Surgery 9/21/06, 1/6 tongue Rt.side removed, +48 lymph nodes neck. IMRTx28 completed 12/19/06. CT scan 7/8/10 Cancer-free! ("spot" on lung from scar tissue related to Pneumonia.)
