The swelling on my cheek seems normal, although feels very hard. The weird things is, I have this very large pouch, like a turkey wattle under my chin that formed, I can sway it back and forth, it looks horrible. I have zero body fat, so it is not from being overweight. It really just appeared my second day after surgery. Is it fluid build-up? I read some have had the same thing after radiation treatment, but I just only had surgery. Anything I can do about it? Please and thanks!

I think most that had a neck dissection have this including me. It is caused from them operating, from radiation burns and chemo. I had an extra rad seed implants but the turkey neck came before that. It feels hard just as you described. It always will from after affects.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Having that kind of surgery is bound to cause swelling. I usually have a drain after surgery. Time heals all wounds. Hope you feel better soon. It may be helped my massage but you must seek out a certified lymphadema massage therapist. Assuming, of course that the surgical wounds have helaed properly.
