Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: May 2010 Posts: 34 | Well just got back from Oral Surgeon who agrees that the white spot needs to come off. He actually scheduled me in for Monday morning at 10:00am. I know the waiting for results is the hard part but I'm ready to just know for sure. I have biopsy on Monday and CT scan on Tuesday. I was wondering if having the biopsy on Monday would alter the results or impact the results of the scan. I have no experience with this and I think the oral surgeon would've realized because he knows my scan is on Tuesday. Anyway, at least the ball is rolling and rather quickly I might add. I'm really nervous because after he examined me he said it was more than he had originally expected. Great.......

Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 4,918 Likes: 70 | The small surgical procedure will not impact the outcome of the CT. They are looking for more than what is in the immediate area of the biopsy. I wouldn't read too much into his comment. Visual opinions are nothing someone can rely on.
