Before getting my tooth pulled I spoke to a couple of my "religious" friends. One a pastor of a church in Seattle, the other a music pastor for a "mega church" outside of Chicago. Both were very supportive and promised to help get the word out and get people to vote. I told them both if they fell through on their word I'd tell Jesus on them. smile

More spreading the word tomorrow, without the gauze stuffed in my mouth frown

Well, I found a video I had my wife take 6 weeks Post Op of my mandiblectomy/flap/nd surgery. I've shared it on my facebook profile with a message for people to vote on the Pepsi refresh project.

For those that are on Facebook, feel free to share it with others...it's not as rough as it could've been so far out of surgery, however it's graphic enough to get a point across. I look like I went a few rounds with Fedor Emelianenko, or Mike Tyson when he was good.

I notice when I come to the forums that you don't see anything about this contest on the main page. I see that there are Sticky Posts at the top of each board, but you have to enter the General board to see the main conversation.

Is this enough to keep this topic at the top of everybody's to-do list? Do most people look at those Stickies each time they enter the board, or do they just go straight to their topic of interest?

I think it would be a good idea to get this on the main page, highlighted in some way, if possible. Is there any way to get a Sticky on the main forum page? Megan? Chester?

Ok, I'm getting a lot of response from the video I posted and a few of you are sharing it and my profile picture with your friends. Those are powerful tools! USE THEM! Visual aides are the most effective way to promote action, which is why the Feed the Children campaigns have been so effective over the years.

Nobody will offend me by using either of those! I'm encouraging it! I'd like to see more OCF folks sharing that video. I've seen more of my non OCF friends sharing the voting link since posting that and I believe your friends will to once they see the devastation that we are faced with.

Ok, if we are going to make a move for the top spot it has to be now. I can't help but feel that we could be doing more to win this thing. I see the posts and links from a select few of us on Facebook, I'd like to see more passion there. Maybe it's just the competitor in me that says reach deep and give it more.

We need to stimulate and motivate people to take action and not just vote, but get thier friends to vote. Images are the best way to get the stimulation going...and persistance and well phrased quotes are great to motivate. If we take these last 12 days and really drive it, play to heartstrings and be persistant I think we are close enough to make a play for it.

Jim,

I just opened the Pepsi site's "sign in" page using the above link; no problems. I guess you should keep trying!
