Hi everyone. I was just updating everyone on my neck dissection issue. I talked to the team nurse yesterday. I was supposed to hear from them last Tuesday after the tumor board meeting. I called and never got a return. That's ok though because my nurse is also fighting this disease and had been sick from chemo. This is her second rodeo with it. With the time passed I had decided to wait till the end of July and have a scan and if it was still showing up have the neck dissection.

The call yesterday set my heart at ease some. Oh my mind too. After they all took my last set of scans and went over them they said that the low uptake numbers were still there but the area had shrunk quite a bit. This means it may well be inflammation. Yes there's that chance it isn't. We will do another scan in August probably and see what is happening. That made me happy. I've had two scans, but they were both early according to what I've read. Although it seems everyone knows to wait atleast 12 weeks for a scan post tx I read that alot of people still have them to early.

Anyway, thanks for all the responses when I was having such a difficult time with this decision. Not out of the woods yet, but the big boulder that I was carrying shrunk. :-)

That sounds like great news. You might as well live like your out of the woods...think positive and deal with the details later.

That's exactly what I intend to do. Thanks Rob.
