Well--it's been a little over a year since my tx has been completed and my thyroid has crapped out. I suppose a pill or so will take care of the problem. The nurse was telling me you're probably feeling this or that and taking this pill will make you feel better--I was like, " I feel normal, nothing out of the ordinary..."

It just feels so good not going through tx that even if I was sleeping my life away laying in a snow bank I would say, "I'm doing well, no problems from what I can see!!" Good thing for doctors and a few tests here and there..........

Being sleepy and not being able to stay warm. Classic hypo-thyroid symptoms.

Funny Brian!!

Ray,

Yes they will prescribe a small pill that they want you to take daily. I have been taking Synthyroid (now the generic form as it's much cheaper) since about my 5th month post Tx as mine crapped out early. I was freezing (still am lol) in Fl when the outside temps were in the 80's and sweating at the same time and feeling tired.

Ray, I too felt great other that I was freezing when the rest of the family was comfortable or I was running the air conditioner and they were bundled up trying to keep the icles away. Anyway, Thyroid meds have helped in resolving the problem - although it is taking awhile getting my thyroid numbers where the Dr wants them. I don't know if you are sporting a full head of hair - but a messed up thyroid can make your hair very unhappy and fall out.

Ray

My bald spot expanded to cover my head in my late 20s. So as I aged, I never really felt older than 27 in terms of hair loss.
Still for purposes of accuracy, here is the actual script of the episode you alluded to
George: How so? I'll tell you how so. She's bald!

Elaine: What do you mean bald?

George: What do you think I mean bald? Bald. Bald bald.

Jerry: She's bald?

George: She's bald.

Elaine: Oh come on.

George: Oh come on? No come on. She took off her hat and there she was (waving his hand over his

head) hello. It was like I was looking at myself in the mirror.

Elaine: Well maybe she got a haircut or something.

George: Let me tell you something. No one walks into a beauty parlor and says "Give me the Larry Fine."

Jerry: Women go bald?

Elaine: Yeah, I've heard of that. I mean they usually wear a wig.

Kramer enters.

Jerry: Hey.

Kramer: Hey.

George: You fixed me up with a bald woman.

Kramer flinches.

Kramer: Bald?

George: Yeah, that's right.

Elaine: Do you see the irony here? You're rejecting somebody because they're bald.

George: So?

Elaine: (puts her hands up to her mouth) You're bald!

George: No I'm not. I *was* bald.

Elaine grabs at the toupee, George dodges the grab.

George: Elaine.

Elaine grabs again and misses. George turns around and opens the door trying to get out. Elaine grabs the

toupee and runs to the window.

George: No, no, no Elaine.

Elaine: (shouting) I don't like this thing. And here's what I'm doing with it.

She tosses the toupee out the window.

George: Nooooo.

He runs to the window, and the blind comes down on his head.

Outside.
