Hello Everyone,

Petey went to surgery at 2PM today in good spirits. I will let you know in the morning
how everything went. He wanted me to keep you all in the loop until he could communicate with you himself! Guess what?????
He also took the film crew for WPTV Channel 5 with him into the O.R.!!! There will be a story on the 11PM news tonight.
He truly is THE MOUSE THAT ROARED!
Thank you again for all of your well wishes, they really meant a lot to Petey.

I sure hope the best for Petey, and right now I am wondering if any of the film crew passed out during surgery! I doubt that they have seen the kind of procedure he is enduring.John's surgeon told us a story about having an intern observe one of his surgeries- the young man-20 minutes into the operation said "Does your Mother know what you do for a living and then passed out cold eek ". We are all pulling for Petey. Amy in the Ozarks

Here's the link to the WPTV report about Petey (text only, no video as of 11:49 p.m.).

Hope all went well! (Based on what the surgeon said, it sounds like it did.)

I'm sitting here with a lump in my throat and my eyes welling up with tears after reading the article on Petey and seeing the video story. For anyone who wants to see what the folks in Florida saw on the news last night, click on the link two posts above this one for WPTV. Go to the top of the page, in the search box type in "Peter Billias". Three stories will come up. Click on the middle story and it will bring up a list of the most popular stories of yesterday. Scroll down and click on the 8th story, the one of Petey and you will be able to see the newscast, the interview with Petey pre-surgery at home, and footage of the doctors and the OR.

I am so thankful for the generosity of the hospital and ten doctors who were ultimately involved. I cried because his face and jaw looked exactly like Aunt Rosemary's when she was diagnosed with her recurrence. I do believe with all my heart that they got him in just in time.

To Melanie and the kids, our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Be strong!

Thanks Leslie and Lisa for making it easy to see what's going on.

Petey, you hang in there and before long you will be posting with the rest of us on the post side of Tx. Make sure your family knows they can reach out to this site anytime.
