Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

"Ive forgotten how bad you can feel battling cancer. Was struggling yesterday, thought I would go right back to the hospital. Saw my ENT who reassured me that Im doing very well. My son (Travis) ordered me home and in bed w/ the feeding pump running. Doing a little better now thanks to Travis."

He said they're still trying to figure out where all the pain is coming from. He was feeling a little dizzy. We talked for quite some time. I could tell it was bothering him. I'll let you know when we find out anything. He is tough and determined, but this pain has been just more than any human should have to deal with. I am very much looking forward to his return home when they have the pain under control.

cg to husband, 48 Stage 1V head and neck SCC. First surgery 9/07. Radiation and several rounds of chemo followed. Mets to chest and lungs. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." Went home to God on February 22, 2009.
